ELECTIVE HOME EDUCATION
We will not encourage anyone to choose EHE based on our own preference, only your own and once you have made the choice yourselves with all the information available to you, we will support you on your own journey.

Many families are scared of the process because they are ill informed by officials who are uneducated on the law surrounding your legal rights to choose where your children receive their education. Do not be bullied into settling for less than you feel worth for yourselves or your children.
It is important that when we give you advice, that you take it on board. We do not support meetings with LA's or schools in the instance that they are trying to force you to stay registered. If you are not 100% sure of your home education decision, please spend more time researching it before you deregister. It is damaging to the EHE community when parents deregister without being fully dedicated and then allow a school or local authority to bully them into staying.

We don't run these groups but we are members and they provide the best overall advice nationally. They have lots of files to read on their group so you can study Home Education rights and responsibilities and there are thousands of members posting daily with real life situations that may help you too. ELECTIVE HOME EDUCATION FOR PARENTS: GUIDENCE. For anyone who wishes to Home Educate your child, here is the government guidance link so you know your responsibilities and rights. We strongly believe all Home Ed parents should be clued up on this to prevent the authorities taking advantage of us if its something you wish to do and don't fully know your legal obligations. You will find that a lot of the things you will be told by school and council officials regarding home education, is simply scaremongering. Feel free to contact us for support with transitioning from school to Home Ed.

DID YOU KNOW?
For most services including but not limited to School , NHS , Police & Social services, you can obtain your data trough what is called a SARS (Subject Access Request) ? If you feel like you are being failed and want to see what has been recorded/actioned and communicated between services, contact the place you are dealing with and ask for this. They may ask you to put the request in writing and they may also ask your child if they are over the legal age of data consent, to give them permission for you to request theirs on their behalf. There will likely be a time limit they have to adhere to, but you are entitled to this information.

The British Gas Energy Trust (BGET) is an independent charity, funded by British Gas, dedicated to helping people in the UK (not just BG customers) who struggle with fuel poverty and energy debt by providing debt relief grants, funding energy/money advice services in communities, and offering emergency fuel vouchers or help with white goods.
Family Action is a national charity that provides support to families facing poverty, disadvantage, and social isolation. For over 150 years, it has helped families and individuals through a range of services, including emotional health support, family support, and help for young carers and those with special educational needs. The charity operates through community-based services across England and Wales
The MAX Card is a national discount card in the UK designed for looked after children and families with special educational needs and disabilities. It allows families to access over 800 attractions across the UK at free or discounted rates. The card aims to help families save money on outings to various venues, including castles, zoos, and recreational facilities.
Leeds SENDIASS (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Service) is a free, confidential, and impartial service in Leeds, UK, that provides vital help, advice, and information to children and young people (ages 0-25) with SEND, and their parents/carers, on all matters related to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including EHC plans, school support, and preparing for adulthood. Operating independently from the local authority, they ensure families understand their rights and are involved in decisions about their child's education and support.
The UK's largest charity providing grants and support to low-income families raising disabled or seriously ill children (up to age 24) for essential items like appliances, tech, furniture, breaks, and play equipment, helping them afford things that improve quality of life and opportunities, funded by UK governments, donations, and trading. They also offer digital skills, money advice, and support services to empower families.
GOV.UK helps families by providing information and access to financial support (like benefits, tax credits, childcare help), parenting resources (maternity/paternity leave, classes), education assistance (free school meals, school support), health guidance (from pregnancy to managing disabilities), and links to vital services like Family Hubs for local, integrated help with health, housing, and debt.

Merlin's Magic Wand is a children's charity, sponsored by Merlin Entertainments (owners of LEGOLAND, SEA LIFE, etc.), that creates magical experiences for children facing serious illness, disability, or adversity by providing free attraction tickets, travel support, and building themed spaces in hospitals and orphanages, aiming to give these children and their families memorable, magical days out
